Terms of Service

1. What this is

Robot Camouflage (robotcamouflage.com) is a tool that generates custom emoji-style images from text prompts, with a browser-based editor and export. You pay with prepaid credits. These terms are a contract between you and us; by signing up or buying credits you accept them.

2. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 13 years old (and old enough to have a Google account where you live). You’re responsible for activity under your account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or create risk for us — if we terminate you for cause, remaining credits are forfeited.

3. Credits

  • New accounts get 25 free credits once. Purchased packs are one-time payments — no subscription.
  • Credits never expire.
  • Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and can only be spent on generations inside the service.
  • Prices are shown in US dollars (USD). Payments are processed by Stripe; the charge on your card statement reads ROBOTCAMOUFLAGE.
  • Editing, background removal, and PNG export are free — credits are only spent on AI generation.
  • If you delete your account, remaining credits are forfeited (see section 8).

4. Refunds

This is exactly how the system behaves — automatic, not discretionary:

  • If the image provider fails (an error, outage, or timeout on their side and you receive nothing), your credits are refunded automatically — usually instantly. A background check also sweeps up any generation left hanging (for example, you closed the tab mid-generation) and refunds it, usually within minutes.
  • If your prompt is blocked by the content filter, the credits are kept. Honest reason: blocked generations still cost us real money with our provider, and refunding them would make the filter free to probe.
  • Cash refunds of credit purchases: purchases are generally final. If something genuinely went wrong — you were charged and got nothing, a duplicate charge, anything that feels unfair — email support@robotcamouflage.com and a human (there is exactly one of us) will look at it and can refund via Stripe.

5. Acceptable use

  • Prompts pass through our provider’s (OpenAI’s) content moderation. Don’t try to generate illegal content, sexual content involving minors, or content designed to harass a real person. What their filter blocks, we block.
  • Don’t use the service to infringe others’ rights — don’t prompt for someone else’s trademark or a celebrity’s likeness and then use the output commercially.
  • Don’t attack, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer the paid endpoints, or automate the service beyond normal personal use. Rate limits exist and we may tighten them.

6. Your images

  • You own your prompts. As between you and us, the generated images are yours — we claim no rights to them and don’t even store them (they live in your browser; see the Privacy Policy).
  • One honest note: the copyright status of AI-generated images is legally unsettled in most places. We give you everything we can give; we can’t promise a court will treat a generated image as copyrightable.
  • Content you generate must still comply with section 5 and with OpenAI’s usage policies, which apply to output from their models.

7. The service, as-is

We run a small service on top of third parties (Cloudflare, OpenAI, Stripe). It’s provided “as is” and “as available” — no warranty of uptime, fitness, or that any particular prompt will produce a good raccoon. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the past 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited.

8. Account deletion

Email support@robotcamouflage.com from your account’s email and we’ll delete your account and sign-in data. Two things to know: remaining credits are forfeited on deletion, and we keep the credit-transaction ledger (de-identified in our database once your account is gone; payment-processor records at Stripe are retained per their policy) because it’s a financial record we need for payment disputes and bookkeeping. Signing up again later creates a fresh account.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms; material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date, and continued use means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts of Kentucky — but email first, it’s faster.

10. One disclosure

“Semantic Countermeasures” is fictional framing used by Robot Camouflage. The fiction on this site — the briefings, the stamps, the claims of robot deception — is satire. No machine-learning system has been verifiably confused by this product. The credits, prices, and refund rules above, however, are entirely real.
